Andrew Rigg from Reading was in need of a new logo and business stationery for his company, Camelot Automation. Andrew had been using a basic logo until now and it was the right time to grow the business with a new professional image.
Tell us about your business
Before our designers started work on Andrew’s new logo we wanted to find out more about the business. At Logo Quality we believe that understanding a client’s business is the key to great designs. Here is what Andrew told us about his business:
“We are leading gate and automation installers working within the home counties and offering a full range of services from maintenance and repair, to the design and build of your new entranceway.
Additionally we offer the supply and installation of gate automation to your existing gates and upgrades on older systems including intercoms and radio remote controls.
We will soon be adding an e-commerce facility to our site for the supply of radio remote controls etc.
Camelot Automation has always manufactured its own wrought iron gates and railings together with its hardwood range of gates in-house. This provides us with the advantage of the best quality control and delivery times.
All our staff are time served craftsmen, and our subcontractors, such as bricklayers are all are picked from the very best.”
Logo first
Andrew needed a logo design and business stationery. Regardless of what extra marketing materials a client may need we always design the logo first. Once the logo is complete we can build all the other items around the logo design to ensure a consistent corporate identity which will add strength to your brand. Below is the logo we created for Camelot Automation.

Gifty Ofosu-Mensah was setting up a new charity, Jerry Duku’s Foundation. Gifty called Logo Quality to see if we could design a logo for this charity.
Speak to us
If you are in need of a logo it is a good idea to give us a call first. We can often learn a lot more about your design requirements and ideas on the phone. Gifty had emailed us his ideas and then we spoke to him to make sure our designers fully understood his vision. Below is some of the information we received:
“The charity is to help fund children with special educational needs and to provide a way for them to further their education.
I have an idea of a man with a rod staff with an eagle with it wings spread to cover the man. In the other the man will have a lit up candle as a guide.”
Multiple concepts
When a client comes to us with a specific idea such as in this case we will assign a couple of designers the task of making the idea come to life. We will also prepare some of our own concepts too in order for the client to see a good range of concepts initially. We will then work on these concepts making any requested changes until the client is 100% satisfied with their new logo design. Below is the finished logo for Jerry Duku’s Foundation.

Sarah-Jane Williams from Dorset was having a website designed for her company The Wooden Kiwi. The web design firm had said they could do the logo as well. This is what she told us.
“I have already paid another company to try their hand at the logo designs part of the web design for us. I have been very disappointed by results and hence approached you.”
Different beasts
Logo design and web design are completely different beasts. We have some amazing web designers who can’t design logos for toffee. The fact is, designing a logo requires a lot of creative thought, insight and generally at least a couple of other designers to bounce ideas around with. This is why at Logo Quality we have specialist logo teams an specialist web teams. In our experience there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Look at it this way… would you let your chiropodist have a go at a root canal??
Logo information
Sarah-Jane provided our specialist logo designs some information about her business to give our team a taste of what she was looking for.
“The Wooden Kiwi is a landscaping company that also specialises in the creation of bespoke wooden outdoor structures. In terms of the landscaping business unit, we offer a full service from garden design to construction and maintenance. In terms of the wooden structures, we design and make garden structures such as pergolas, decking, stream bridges, car ports etc to suit the clients exact needs. We also have a seperate business unit that focuses on childrens wooden playframes, and also promote our specialism in outdoor electrics (lighting, water fountains etc). So, in summary, we are a professional landscaping company with a particular strength in incorporating woodwork.
Describe any ideas you have or creative direction you want us to use: Ideally I would like to see logos that include a reference to the kiwi (the bird, not fruit!) itself. I would also like the logo to hint towards the nature of the business, ie landscaping. Perhaps there may also be a slight bias towards the ‘wooden’ aspect too, although this is not so important. So basically its ‘nature + the kiwi’ to combine. Considering nature by way of trees, leaves, wood etc is probably best. This company is led by a New Zealander and I am exploring the use of very subtle Maori type designs within the website. This may or may not be progressed, but it is perhaps worth considering this angle for the odd design inspiration? Please try and make the logo memorable and not overly complex. It needs to work on vehicle branding and be clear when printed small onto business cards etc.”
Logo design
Armed with all the logo information that Sarah-Jane provided we created a great new logo for her business.

Godson Akinsanya from London contacted Logo Quality through the ‘Live Chat’ function on our site. Godson was looking to re-brand his company HomeStaff. His goal was simple.
“We just want to stand out among our competitors and repackage ourselves to beat this recession.”
Staying on top
Godson has realised that in difficult times only the best will survive. To prove you are the best you first need the chance. A fresh, stand out look will guarantee your company gets a look in… the rest is up to you!
Godson was so intent on picking the right design studio to re-brand his company he put a lot of time into making his decision and after speaking with us via Live Chat and on the phone Godson handed us the project. This is what he had to say about his decisions making process.
“I have a taste for quality and I cannot easily be satisfied so this job is not one of the jobs that you will rush. I spent two full day checking designers websites and looking at their portfolios before I concluded to give this job to you. You are definitely not the cheapest but I would not compromise quality for price.”
Logo information
HomeStaff had been in business for several years. To learn about the business and find inspiration and ideas for the re-branding our designers visited the existing HomeStaff website. From there our designers could really get a feel for the business and how to go about transforming the company image. Below is some extra information that Godson provided.
“We are a recruitment agency specializing in the supply of Domestic, Hospitality and Care workers. Our clients are mainly families and people within the medium and upper income bracket”
Logo design
Below you can see the new logo we created for HomeStaff.
Testimonial
After we had completed the design for Godson he was kind enough to say a few words about our service.
“I am a very satisfied customer. Logo Quality is simply the best around and I have started to recommend you
to my friends in business. Thank you once again. It has been nice doing business with you.”

John Pawlenko from London is self-employed and starting a new business venture, Alliance Projects. John has big plans for his business but no firm ideas for his logo. John said to us “I’m quite open minded at this point, so let your creative juices flow…”
Fueling the creative process
Many client’s like John will not have much of an idea when it comes to the design of their logo. We have an extensive team of experienced and creative designers. All we need is some info from our customers about their business and our team can get to work creating an exciting selection of logo concepts. This is what we received from John.
“The big idea…
Many busy professionals do not have time to work on, produce or update their marketing / communication documents, PowerPoint presentations or their presence on the internet. Some of these same people may also lack the tools or skills to produce such items to a high and consistent standard on an ongoing basis – perhaps even to a level they themselves would accept as falling a little short of their normal standards.
The opportunity…
Alliance Projects will focus especially on those people who feel they need practical assistance in producing or updating the documentation, presentations or web presence necessary to deliver their ideas, messages and services but:
a) have insufficient time to produce them to a higher than normal standard or
b) sense that the effort involved is not actually the best use of their time
Describe your target audience:
a) self-employed business owners or consultants
b) other professionals or small working groups / project teams who may lack administrative / creative support”
The logo design
Initially you will receive around 5 design concepts from different designers to maximise creative input. After the initial stage we will work with you revising designs until we produce a great design that you are 100% happy with. We are even happy to go back to the drawing board and provide fresh ideas at any stage in the process. Below is the final logo design for Alliance Projects.

Paul Hayes needed a brand logo and business stationery for his new business selling smoothies, OSO Juicy. He wanted the design to be bright, colourful and energetic.
Send us a sketch
Paul was a bit of an artist and had an idea drawn out on paper. He sent us his sketch for our designers to work from when creating the new logo design. Sending a sketch can be a really useful guide for our designers. Even if you aren’t a particularly good drawer a rough sketch can still be useful, a picture speaks 1000 words as they say.
Logo process
Our designers got to work preparing some initial concepts for Paul. We based some of the concepts around Paul’s sketch and we also provided some of our own ideas too. We always work to a client’s brief but our designers will always throw some of their own ideas into the ring as well. We have an unlimited revisions policy which means we can work through several logo concepts before arriving at the finished article. Below is the final OSO Juicy logo.

Rachel Burslam from Lancashire was starting a new business, Green Apples and Elephants, and needed a logo and business stationery to help win her first customers and promote the business. Rachel found us on line and completed our simple on line order form.
Design Order Form
Our on line order form is set up to get just the information we need from our clients to set our designers off in the right direction. Many clients just leave the design and creativity up to us and others may have specific requirements such as particular colors, fonts or ideas. Below is some information we received from Rachel:
“Company Description: My business will be selling partyware that has minimal environmental impact. It will focus on children’s parties, weddings, picnics, festivals and other family occastions.
Target Audience: Parents of young children. The new generation of environmentally aware teenagers up to those in their late 30’s.
Colors: Green and White.
Ideas: I envisage the shape of an apple with the outline made up of a chain of alternate smaller apples and elephant silhouettes.”
The logo design
We prepare several designs initially and then work with our clients, revising the design until we have a great design that the client is 100% happy with. We offer unlimited revisions and can explore many design ideas. You will see the final logo below does not exactly match Rachel’s initial idea. This often happens when working through a design process you can discover what works and what doesn’t.
