Sarah-Jane Williams from Dorset was having a website designed for her company The Wooden Kiwi. The web design firm had said they could do the logo as well. This is what she told us.
“I have already paid another company to try their hand at the logo designs part of the web design for us. I have been very disappointed by results and hence approached you.”
Different beasts
Logo design and web design are completely different beasts. We have some amazing web designers who can’t design logos for toffee. The fact is, designing a logo requires a lot of creative thought, insight and generally at least a couple of other designers to bounce ideas around with. This is why at Logo Quality we have specialist logo teams an specialist web teams. In our experience there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Look at it this way… would you let your chiropodist have a go at a root canal??
Logo information
Sarah-Jane provided our specialist logo designs some information about her business to give our team a taste of what she was looking for.
“The Wooden Kiwi is a landscaping company that also specialises in the creation of bespoke wooden outdoor structures. In terms of the landscaping business unit, we offer a full service from garden design to construction and maintenance. In terms of the wooden structures, we design and make garden structures such as pergolas, decking, stream bridges, car ports etc to suit the clients exact needs. We also have a seperate business unit that focuses on childrens wooden playframes, and also promote our specialism in outdoor electrics (lighting, water fountains etc). So, in summary, we are a professional landscaping company with a particular strength in incorporating woodwork.
Describe any ideas you have or creative direction you want us to use: Ideally I would like to see logos that include a reference to the kiwi (the bird, not fruit!) itself. I would also like the logo to hint towards the nature of the business, ie landscaping. Perhaps there may also be a slight bias towards the ‘wooden’ aspect too, although this is not so important. So basically its ‘nature + the kiwi’ to combine. Considering nature by way of trees, leaves, wood etc is probably best. This company is led by a New Zealander and I am exploring the use of very subtle Maori type designs within the website. This may or may not be progressed, but it is perhaps worth considering this angle for the odd design inspiration? Please try and make the logo memorable and not overly complex. It needs to work on vehicle branding and be clear when printed small onto business cards etc.”
Logo design
Armed with all the logo information that Sarah-Jane provided we created a great new logo for her business.

Godson Akinsanya from London contacted Logo Quality through the ‘Live Chat’ function on our site. Godson was looking to re-brand his company HomeStaff. His goal was simple.
“We just want to stand out among our competitors and repackage ourselves to beat this recession.”
Staying on top
Godson has realised that in difficult times only the best will survive. To prove you are the best you first need the chance. A fresh, stand out look will guarantee your company gets a look in… the rest is up to you!
Godson was so intent on picking the right design studio to re-brand his company he put a lot of time into making his decision and after speaking with us via Live Chat and on the phone Godson handed us the project. This is what he had to say about his decisions making process.
“I have a taste for quality and I cannot easily be satisfied so this job is not one of the jobs that you will rush. I spent two full day checking designers websites and looking at their portfolios before I concluded to give this job to you. You are definitely not the cheapest but I would not compromise quality for price.”
Logo information
HomeStaff had been in business for several years. To learn about the business and find inspiration and ideas for the re-branding our designers visited the existing HomeStaff website. From there our designers could really get a feel for the business and how to go about transforming the company image. Below is some extra information that Godson provided.
“We are a recruitment agency specializing in the supply of Domestic, Hospitality and Care workers. Our clients are mainly families and people within the medium and upper income bracket”

Testimonial
After we had completed the design for Godson he was kind enough to say a few words about our service.
“I am a very satisfied customer. Logo Quality is simply the best around and I have started to recommend you
to my friends in business. Thank you once again. It has been nice doing business with you.”
